Rather than having a detached business head, Kara is managed by a passionate, qualified educationalist with a proven track record in teaching, training, management, instructional design, curriculum development, special education and more, who started her career with one of India’s leading schools; Mallya Aditi International School; Katherine Rustumji.
After a successful career in the corporate sector in both UK and India, Katherine moved into the field of education after completing her Professional Studies in Education, Oxford Brookes University, UK.
Having started her career with one of India’s leading institutions - Mallya Aditi International School – Katherine moved into the domain of the Early Years in 2002 with the specific objective of designing and implementing effective curriculum and professionalizing education from birth to 5 years; adapting the best of western scientific research to meet the needs of the Indian context.
As a British national who moved to India in 1992, Katherine launched Kara in 2006 with the objective of creating an organization that would set the gold standard in early childhood education and childcare in India, by raising health, safety, hygiene and teaching practices to international levels.
Having achieved this objective, Kara continues to grow as a learning organisation and educational provider across all age groups, thanks to the support of its excellent faculty, parents and fellow professionals.
